Greenlane security meeting
0
venue:
No 11 Jalan Jeriji U8/75D
description:
Greenlane residents met at Azrul's place on Monday 4th June.
The main point of discussion is the review of our current security arrangements which started on 1 April 2007. There were a few other related points such as -
i/ barrier gate
ii/ guard house
iii/ collection from residents
The next security fee collection period will start from 1 July for 3 months. To date we are still short of the targetted participation. So we need to touch base before the end of the month to have a feel on how we are progressing.
All GreenLane residents are invited to the meeting on Monday 25th June at 9pm. Please also invite new residents who just moved in.
Meeting venue - Very important

to all residents interested in the security matters within greenlane... please attend this meeting for important decisions.
a quick update
pending my memo being drafted, wanted to capture a few thoughts from the meeting before i forget...
a. there was a consideration to dissolve the committee and terminate the service on account of poor residents' participation. however, the attendees to the meeting voted by majority to continue due to security concerns.
b. no security incidents reported since 1 april (date of implementation of current service).
c. the guard performance needs improvement, but not unacceptable. however, due to low participation... quality may be compromised. barrier gates not feasible due to potential residents dissension. current security company will be continued beyond 30 june 2007. to nego for another 3 months probation.
d. the main issue is collection. current line leaders involved in collection reported frustration amongst those being approached for collection. help is needed here to address this. residents will continue with self collection. residents adviced to make payments directly to line leaders.
urmmm... my mind is tired now. feel free to add other points i missed out.
Additions
e. AGM is proposed on 21st August 2007 (??). New commitee members will be selected. Tentatuve location : infront of colonel's house. Tent will be 'sponsored' by colonel.
f. Task force will be assigned to talk to non payers and rationalise.
g. If residents have any grievances, it is advisable to clarify with The Chief or colonel. Pls provide their addresses and contact nos.
At the footer, pls list down all the committee members details again.
Take no prisoners!!!!
To those who attended (although 80% are the familiar faces), I salute you guys. To those who wish to remain on stealth mode, pls give up moral support and less back stabbing (quite difficult I agree as this is typical Malaysian Boleh culture). If you hv whatsoever grievances, pls do not engage in backlane chatting and start to venomise other minds. Clarify with relevant authorities.
Nobody's perfect but at least the few is trying to protect our surroundings and we're working for free at odd hours rain or shine. Do not be 'super duper bagus' or bossy when you're being approached for collection. We're mortals too.
working hard
Haven't logged in for quite some time. Just realised I've missed the meeting.
It was quite a frustration to the responds from my line on the collection, Jef would've experience the same - thanks for assisting.
Among the responds from my row are RM100/mth is too high, guards are not patrolling the area, information was not circulated and etc., which are not 100% true.
Do agree to the task force idea.
till then ....
back to work
Thanks Jamil & we almost quit
Jamil.... The list of issues that I've put in our website are all extracted from your line. But when called for meeting, 1001 reasons given. I would hv love to debate with them. Spiderman pun penatlah layan depa ni.... Got to metamorphose into other superhero.
The hardworking committee members i.e. Rajinder, Chief, Azrul and Hisham wanted to terminate due to frustrations but we the part timers wanted to continue due to safety concerns. We do not want anyone to be harmed and regret later that we could hv done something. But deep inside, I do not think it'll last long as the heavyweights morals are very low. Hope I'm wrong.
I hope we are more cooperative, tolerable and less bossy and expects everything to be super duper perfect. Others are doing for the community benefits and on our own time. If you do not want to do the voluntary work pls give us moral support.
I am going to suggest we tighten the security at the entrance. The guards are quite slack too.
thanks for the feedback
my take:
essentially residents are being very picky on the service level of our guards. this is fine under normal circumstances. however, we only have 60 households to share this cost. even then, it is not easy to get collection. to make matters worse, it appears unity is lacking. to me we need to address the unity of greenlane properly as we cannot afford divisions / dissensions as this would make it much more difficult to enforce the guards' service level. i think a reality check is due.
Dear All I know our security
Dear All
I know our security systems level has a lot to be polish, and let me be frank to you guys, yesterday i have cought one of the security chating with one of our resident's maid. And I personally warn the guard to be more carefull if he wants to retain his work. We must be alert to our maid not to comunicate with any outsiders. I have mention to yaroq yesterday about asking our security to put up the clock timer in our residents area in order to makesure our guards make proper inspection in our residents every now and then. i am also aware that if we were to implement this, probably our costs will arise, but this is to ensure that the last lane will enjoy the same benefit like those who stay infront. And also if we have more people move in and everyone pay, I would like to suggest 1 or 2 guards to be station at the back lane as we are not gated. Like I say, this is just an idea which I would like to share and hope that It can be apply soon as I am aware at the moment, there's nothing much we can do as we don't have enough strength as our residents are limited and some resident's neglect or (Liat) when it comes to payment. but we need to inform everyone that this is what we plan for everyone in order for everyone to have a peace of a mind staying in greenlane. Asrul If you are reading my comment, please ask the security company to quote for the package with the clock timer, at least we can do our future planning and costing from there onwards.
... so much to do, but so little support
after all my recent discussions amongst the more neighbourly residents ... firstly, I'd like to express my sincerest gratitude to all the committee members and line leaders and others (like Batsy (formerly Spidey) who have been in the front line of trying to organise all sorts of things and activities in the best interest of us all. I can't thank you enough for your tireless efforts.
I on the other hand know that I haven't done enough but merely provide support from the back.
Anyway, as we all know ... I am sure most of us have lived in other neighbourhoods before actually moving here. We all accept the fact that there will always be those who do not wish to participate or worse still, criticise other members with regards to the issue of co-ordinating /setting up security guards services and other activities /events held or to be held.
I'd just like to say that, if all of us work together (some more aggressively than others naturally) towards a common goal, we can certainly make our neighbourhood a safer and better place to reside in. Why do some residents prefer not to choose to work towards this is beyond me. I guess they do not subscribed to the idea that 'no man is an island' and feel that they can carry on life without the need for friends and neighbours. I am sure that there will come a time when one will eventually depend on others ...
Lets take the issue of the security guards services ... I see the importance of having one. They may not be all perfect but then again who is? On the flip side of things ... what happens if we don't have them patrolling our neighbourhood. During the time we didn't have any security guards services, we have already witness to car break ins in our Greenland neighbourhood. Since then, no major issues have cropped up. Thats not to say it won't happen again but the probability is somewhat reduced, and I see that as something good, wouldn't you all?
I too am frustrated even though I did not having to go through what the 'heavyweights' have had to go through ... but I say, lets not compromise on safety.
For those who do not wish to participate in the Security Guard Service, please let us know why and can you provide a better solution for the community? With regards to relying on home alarms, we have been through all this before, those state-of-the-art home alarm systems probably do work, but it only works for the house and when you are in them ... but, what happens outside? when we go for walks, when our kids go out to play, when our visitors park outside our houses during their visits? Why are there people who feel that they are confident that nothing bad will happen?
I agree with Zien and Batsy, we need inform everyone of our intentions and reiterate the need for participation in such activities in the best interest of our neighbourhood.
Wait a minute ... I am rambling on-and-on on the same matter. Better stop now before I start to nag ...
Life is short.... pray hard !!!
Faridz,
Thanks for the support. Wish more residents are like you. As I said, spidey dah penat so batsy took over. But a very dejected one. Maybe will metamorphose into Megatron from Decepticons (the baddie leader from Transformer) soon.
Juat want to update everyone. Our new squadron leader, Zien, has been patrolling the neighborhood for 2 days after work. Maybe he's doing a quick recce to stratigise his modus operandi.
I'm not a sore loser as I understand 100% participation is impossible but the attitude and treatment received by the non participants are something that I do not want to go thru ever again. Another thing that pisses me off is there are many 'cakap belakang' but no one ever highlight to the right channel and start to poison others.
Anyway.... life is short..... pray hard!!!
nice one, bats
woooo.... like the new avatar. brooding, angry & menacing. a reflection of the inner mirror perhaps?
support is good enough
bro... no worries. i think support is good enough. we would need more support from the silent majority - to give their 2 sens worth.
Greenlane Security
Dear all
Depa tak tau lagi...ingat ada alarm dah selamat...and some of the residents in the last lane are playing hardball with the commitee but don't realise that they are the one who is at the most risks. Let me be frank with you all, i have been in the insurance industries for the past 14 years and I've seen things that most of you don't even think about it. And to add in more interesting fact about thieves or robbers, they too have diploma, degree, Masters and PHD(permanent head damage maa) in their main core activities. (Ape..U ingat depa tak surveykaa..tak study? lagi ade alarm lagie laa depa nak masuk..coz you indirectly telling them that you have valuable item in your house)and the best thing they will wait for you to come back, then they will robbed you and your entire family will be their hostages. (just imagine putting a knife on your son's neck) Don't think they have feelings..depa nie before start dah amik drugs,,Amik Ice Ice baby..so just imagine that one day due to lack of support from all residents and Security guard has to be resolve,,,,Then we are the only one in BKT Jelutong without security...Ape lagi..Jalan Jeriji jadi jalan Dicurilaaa beb!!!! jadi coboyy laaa kita semua...So think about it.
