Lack of support
Not happy with the lack of support we received from the residents esp when we're trying to improve the living conditions around the neighborhood. Only a handful familiar faces attends meetings / discussions / meet Guthrie's session (which was cancelled twice). As such, the pro tem committee decides to concentrate only on security issues. Other issues will be handled on case to case basis if there are benefits to everybody. Residents are advised to deal with Guthrie personally on the defects.

Security meeting
Another meeting is planned on the 4th June at Azrul's place (Security focal point) at 9 pm. His address is 27, U8/75C. We will discuss the shortcomings of the current security systems, improvements and way forward. The security superior will attend the meeting too. Hope to see the newcomers joining the meeting.

Website participation
We also noticed that the website's usage is very minimal lately. We hope that this not a bad sign.

We also plan to go back to 20th century technology ie distributing flyers for any announcements, minutes etc as many residents do not hv access to internet. Hence, pls read all the flyers in your post box as we're not being paid for what we're doing. Even we bear the photocopy cost. It will make us happy knowing that our flyers are being read.

We hope to see improvements soonest. We need to beef up our Muhibbah Spirit. We do not want to end up like most of the neighborhood in Malaysia - full of kiasus.

For those who will be attending, pls respond as follows:

update

it was a good turnout at last night's meeting at azrul's place.

some points (IIRC - starting to forget things!)...

a. agree to install the barrier gates ASAP - will write to tiger force security for them to install
b. will attempt to secure support from all residents for the barrier gate in parallel
c. collections below our targetted 63 households... now only 54 households (HELP!)
d. we need to encourage all to participate*
e. so far no security incidents reported since the appointment of the guards

*we note that some residents expressed that RM100 is too much to pay. we acknowledge that all of us do not want to pay the RM100 forever, but given the importance of security in our are - particularly for our family and surroundings - we believe we need to pull together as a community and sacrifice a little to have some added assurance on security... every bit of security deterrent makes a difference. we believe with greater participation, the monthly rates will come down. so we really need unity on this one folks.

other attendees please add to my updates if i missed out on anything...

cheers!

and ...

(with reference to points a. and b. above) we are still to do our part in ensuring that the relevant documentation seeking approval is submitted to MBSA. So far we are to submit a follow up letter to them. We all take note that if need be, we may need to get all residents to indicate their agreement/provide their no objection to putting up the barrier gate.

... the guard house is to remain where it is. the dog cage is to be maintained in a presentable manner. we are to follow-up with BJRA and other relevant parties to have a proper guard house put up.

... guards are only to required to take down details of visitors entering the neighbourhood from 12am to 6am (is this correct?) and not to retain any personal identification items from such visitors.

... line leaders to assist in speaking to all new residents (and to collect contact details) on the residents' association as well as the need for a security service as well as to follow up with certain non participating households and to take down their concerns/issues.

Kudos to everyone

Fellow Greenlaners,

Sorry for not attending. I was stuck btwn Gua Tempurung and right b4 Tapah (11 km) for almost an hour. Only one lane was openend to facilitate returfing works. Then, it was a 80 km/h drive from Bkt Beruntung right to exit into GCE. Really sucks.

Anyway, I was happy to hear that the attendance is good. I always thot that nobody reads the website. We still hv an uphill battle to face and I hope evrybody gives a helping hand to the committee esp the line leaders. Hope to see less of 'smiley face' and 'Darth Maul Jr'.

I still believe we need to distribute the minutes as hard copy so that no one can gv excuses that they do not know what is happening.

To all attendees, I salute 'spring' and lets make our community the best in BJ. The committee cannot function without our participation / assistance.
