Looking for a reliable balancing and alignment centre
Despite moving to BJ for 3 years now, I normally go to Subang Jaya for doing my chores esp on any services required for the cars. However, lately I discovered, that most of the sifus have been replaced with 'young punks' who seems to know everything about the car and always telling you that you need to replace this and that.
Today, based on recommendation from my bro in law, I took my wife's car to Kim Chuan Tyre Centre at Tmn Perindustrian Batu Tiga near the Polytechnic. A lot of replacement required esp on the brake pads, brake pump, gaskets etc. I was kind of expected of all these. The guy took 5 hours to do all those listed. I did not mind as long as a proper job was done. Frankly, quite satisfied with the workmanship. I don't know much about car though except checking the battery, fuel and tyres pressure only.
However, what pisses me off is, I was charged addidtional 3% for using credit card. Never in my life I was additionally charged for using the credit card. I was also charged RM33 per tyres for readjusting the camber. Is that the current rate??
Does anyone know any reasonable and reliable tyres shop nearby? I need to send my car for brake servicing, balancing and alignment too.
I guess 3% is slightly on
I guess 3% is slightly on the high side. I don't think the merchants pay that amount to the card companies. Actually, i do know some workshops and tire shops charge extra if payment is via credit card.
As for the adjustment of the camber, RM33 does sound expensive too. For tire related stuff, i usually go to Klang as i find the prices there cheaper than Glenmarie. I go to one near Batu Belah (off Jalan Meru).
Klang
Agreed. Klang is relatively cheaper. But if you are only going to do minor stuffs like alignment, etc. no point traveling to Klang. There is this shop near Kg Subang I go to for alignment/balancing work. Can't recall the shop name but it's very near the masjid along the main road which is currently experiencing some road works.
