Guard's request
Salam and good day;
I'm done sending SMSes to the usual guys. I'll use this forum to voice out about the guard's request. This is to enable everyone to share the issue.
The day guard is requesting for a speed hump (or is it bump?) to be installed. He complained that some do not slow down their cars. Let's see whether anyone will take action.

yes, I spoke to him on the matter too. Certainly a practical solution for all those drivers who speed through entrance point and our neighbourhood, this was raised by miaqun73 some time back in 11 July 2007 - 5:59pm.
Rubber Bumper
my lane neighbour, mr.azlan did mention to me that he can get the rubber bumper for us...but not for free lah. we can ask him to get quotation for us first and then decide whether to purchase or not. or anybody like to sponsor for this?

I spent the evening visiting numerous DIY stores for such a rubber hump quotation but was not successful.
Please get the indicative fee quote first and we can take it from there.

so far things are on hold ...
on the matter of installing a rubber speed hump to regulate cars from speeding past our entry point ... well things are currently on hold.
after getting our first quotation (approx RM240 per piece (although i have not seen the actual quotation, I am guessing that the dimension is probably 350mm wide x 500mm sections (length) and 50mm height - thats the normal standard ones one can find around)).
Miaqun73, correct me if I am wrong the price (my memory is kinda weak).
So, anyway, assuming that we would need 6 pieces, that would be much to costly for us. Whilst we are trying to get cheaper quotations, I suggest we look for alternative speed humps (like the traditional cemented ones).
Not sure, what are the regulations on this and how much it would cost. Any more ideas guys?

In regards to the hump in from of our guard house, I make a phone call to MBSA to clarify on this matter. As usual they require an official letter from our resident association to Pengarah Jabatan Kejuruteraan MBSA for approval. The request must be unanimously agreed by residents…..but I think this is tough part I guess, therefore we just proceed.
In term of cost, normally MBSA will bear the cost provided the hump to be placed in front of Scholl, Playground and related area which involved a lot of public. In our case, we can appeal no harm.
MBSA contractor will charge around RM1k-2k plus signboard depending on the materials.

Yup, the price is rm240/each and we need to purchase at least 6 pieces to cover the the whole width of the road. according to azlan we can view the installed rubber bumper at sunway kayangan housing entry point.

1) How many hump?
2) Where hump to be placed (Attachment: Pls provide road sketch and legend)
3) The reason/purpose why need hump ( Pls list down as many possible)
4)Pls highlight that this been request by majority residence ( Attachment: Pls provide our owned “borang persetujuan- name list/add/etc” duly signed by the resident at least 30% as a prove)

According to the officer the approval will take about 2 weeks time and the implementation about 1-2 months ( if the cost is free then we have to be patient….if nak cepat then faham2 je ler).
