Gas-Check Services & Yellow Tags
Guys, have you encountered a team of sales people last weekend going door to door requesting that they be permitted to enter into our premises to check on gas leaks, etc.? I think this incident has occurred not too long ago, involving a group of ppl claiming to represent Shell LPG.
And I noticed yellow tags/notices posted on the pillars of some houses. Care to elaborate on this?
yeah ...
Yup, I saw them too. They came in a van trying to check on whether our stoves/ovens/homes are susceptible to gas leaks. Don't know where they were from as I didn't allow them in. You never know what else they may be observing.
As for the tags/notice cards posted on the pillars - they are most likely from our boys in the Department of Statistics conducting a census ("banci") study ... but normally they would not come into our homes and limiting their questions to how many are residing in a single home etc.
I have heard of some so called con banci men asking a lot more questions and trying to get into homes ... must be careful.

I got this from the Department of Statistics' website ... have a read on the surveys and censuses done by them here http://www.statistics.gov.my/eng/index.php?option=com_content&view=artic...

Thanks, you are indeed EFISIEN
My story pulak ......
Yep, they came to my house too but I was not around. My wife asked for the authorisation letter from a recognised body / government agency directing to inspect the gas cyclinders connection. They told her that it will take ages for the government agency to produce the letter and started to condem how inefficient the government is. My wife lied and told them that she is a government officer and they immediately left.
If I am not mistaken, my father experienced the same incident at my old place in USJ. He let the guy came in to inspect the gas hose and he was very sure that the guy cut the hose and then claimed that the connection was faulty. The guy then requested RM 200++ to replace the connection with a new leak proof device. My father refused and he left. Luckily, nothing happened.
So, everyone be extra careful. We are in desperate times.
Can we?
Not permit them in to our area. Request the security bar them from coming in.Hmmm.....
Gas people
Yup, those people came to my place too. I chased them out.
Anyway, just trying to make myself useful... if you guys have any problem with your cooking system, let me know. I may be able to help with some basic stuff. Otherwise, I can always escalate it to the Shell Gas distributors.
If in future someone come claiming they wanna check your gas connection, chase them away! They're trying to make quick bucks out of our fear.
