Is there a dengue outbreak?
to anyone who can shed some light on things - is there some form of a dengue outbreak (or some other form of vector-borne disease of similar nature) in our Greenlane kampung?
yesterday Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam ("MBSA") had sent a smallish team to conduct a fumigation exercise on our streets and backlanes.
I appreciate their efforts, but I sure wish the could inform us (in advance) of the arranged dates for when fogging and vector control is to be done. I had kids playing on the street, when they started their work ... I am not sure whether these things are dangerous but seeing that the MBSA ppl are wearing breathing apparatus, I am guessing they may not be all that friendly to kids either. the least that they could have done is to make a simple announcement before starting their work.
as a parent, I am personally not pleased with the manner they carried out their efforts.
fyi
Took the liberty of raising the matter to MBSA. I attach their reply mail to me for your kind information:-

this is a more recent case. there must have been one earlier case reported (of which we are not aware off) which led to MBSA conducting the fogging exercise.
I hope things go well for him. InsyaAllah, I will make doa for this.

Another dengue case???
There was another fumigation exerxise around 7 pm today but this time it was done from a lorry and the 'smoke' is not a lot compared to the earlier one. Any new dengue outbreak in Greenlane???
Observed that there's a lot of mosquitoes lately. Maybe because of the rainy season.
banyak nye naymuk
could not agree more lah on the mosquitoes. Few days ago I asked my maid to spray ridsect in all rooms after I leave for work. When I got back, I found like 3-4 dead mosquitoes at dark corners.
take extra precaution
I also noticed that there are alot of aedes mosquitoes in my house lately even though I seldom open my doors and windows. So, for those with children, better take extra precaution and not let them stay outdoors too late in the evening.
